The Gold weave Gi is a hybrid between the double and single weaves. Gold weave has the lightness of the single weave and the durability of a double weave. It was the standard for competition Gis before other weaves such as Pearl and Ripstop came along. These Gis range in weight between 650–1050gsm.

OUR GI’S ARE MADE TO HAVE AN ADAPTIVE FIT MEANING THEY ARE NOT PRESHRUNK. SINCE THERE ARE MANY VARIATIONS IN BODY TYPES, WE HAVE INTENTIONALLY ALLOWED FOR CONTROLLED SHRINKING. ALWAYS WASH YOUR GI INSIDE OUT TO KEEP THE COLOR LOOKING GREAT.
IF GI FITS PERFECTLY-------- WASH WITH COLD WATER AND HANG DRY
IF YOU WANT TO SHRINK THE GI A SMALL AMOUNT------- WASH WITH WARM/HOT WATER AND HANG DRY
IF THE GI STILL NEEDS MORE SHRINKING-------WASH WITH HOT WATER AND DRY ON MEDIUM HEAT (HIGH HEAT FOR MAXIMUM SHRINKAGE)
IF YOU NEED TO SHRINK ONLY CERTAIN AREAS (I.E ONLY THE ARMS), SOAK ONLY THAT AREA IN HOT WATER FOR A FEW HOURS AND THEN ALWAYS WASH YOUR GI IN COLD WATER/HANG DRY TO KEEP THAT EXACT FIT
You can simply wash the GI in cold water and hang dry it, and it won’t shrink. However, if you want to intentionally shrink the Gi, you can wash it in hot water and then dry it in a machine dryer. The hottest setting in both the washer and dryer will shrink the Gi about 2-3 inches in length and also make it tighter everywhere in the body.
WARNING: WASHING GI IN HOT WATER AND MACHINE DRYING ON HIGH SETTING WILL CAUSE THE MAXIMUM SHRINKAGE
